What is SFTPro?
SFTPro is a native macOS SFTP client built in SwiftUI. It's made for developers and anyone who works on remote servers and wants a fast, keyboard-driven app that feels like it belongs on a Mac, without a subscription.
You can drive the whole app from the keyboard. Arrow keys move through directories, enter a folder, or jump to the parent; Return opens a file. The file browser uses color-coded, extension-aware icons, so source files, configs, keys, and archives are recognizable at a glance instead of an undifferentiated list.
Files open in a built-in editor with syntax highlighting, so you can edit a config or script in place without downloading it first. Quick Look previews, a transfer queue with progress, cancel, and retry, and Unix permission (chmod) editing are all built in.
Connections use SSH key authentication (Ed25519 and RSA, encrypted or plain) or a password. Host keys are verified trust-on-first-use against a known-hosts store, and credentials are stored in the macOS Keychain, never in plain text. Network I/O runs off the main thread using actor-based concurrency, so the interface stays responsive even while listing large remote directories.
SFTPro is distributed directly as a notarized app and keeps itself up to date automatically. Downloading, connecting, browsing, and previewing are free. A one-time license unlocks editing and uploads. It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
