Skype is not a team or collaboration system neither posses omnichannel capabilities or E2E encryption
The last version is enterprise-ready, and support is pretty much what you pay for, you can also package it with your own theme, and is a fully white-label product
The ability to self host puts you in the drivers seat and makes for a trustworthy platform. Excellent UI!
Hosting a rocketchat instance is painful. None of the deployment methods seem to be properly maintained and the documentation is flawed. Software quality seems to have only degraded within the last two years with many important bug tickets and PRs on github ignored for years rendering documented features (e.g. invite links) unusable.
I assume that few people are running a recent version from the 4.5 series; I have no other explanation for the amount of positive reviews here.
Simple to deploy and use, pluggable through its interface with many other online services. Rights are easily managable.
Easy installation/configuration. Good device-support.
It is great for working in teams and since you can selfhost it makes it more customizable
