Armada

Armada is a client for the concord protocol which is what allows nostr users to create communities that have channels, roles, & text channels appear as forum channels. This protocol is almost 3 months old. There is limitations to this such as roles have a limit of 100 roles & if you delete one it's id is forever locked into this limit so you lose a slot. It's better to rename the role then delete it while this is brand new there are other softwares which use the concord protocol so Armada is not the only app you can use with your profile to interact & manage your communities.

The client software Armada itself while may look promising has some important details you need to know about. This was created by Team Soapbox which if you've been paying attention to their reputation on Nostr you will know the negativity going around within the team's methods of management & the way they handle things. If you're going to use this client I highly recommend you do not use the default relays which is their relays.

1. They add their friends as recommended defaults with no terms of service or privacy policies to the relays. You have no knowledge of how these relays operate & what their ethics are.

2. Team Soapbox has an unethical way of handling users by performing client side banning. This means even if you use other relays to connect to your friends & communities Team Soapbox can block you from using the app forcing it to not work for you & requiring you to go find another app which uses the concord protocols. This is highly unethical & against the point of Nostr which is to be a censorship resistant network you shouldn't get screwed out of an app because one website doesn't like what you're doing.

3. Warning Team Soapbox's relays & blossom server which is the media server has a bot connected to it that scans all messages & media contents. Team Soapbox has this unethical stance on nudity & adult material that the bot will automatically flag the media as csam (child sexualized adult material) regardless of if it actually is or isn't then automatically client ban you so you can no longer use the app. They don't want nudity on their relay fine block from relay but to client ban you is against the Nostr philosophy.

4. Team Soapbox offers a self host able version of Armada built with their relay & media software into the "stack" but the self host able version contains a unified report system which is against Nostr philosophy because this allows them to control what is banned from your server on top of you controlling whats banned on your server. How it works is if they ban someone & add it into this unified report system everyone using the "Armada stack" as they call it the software will automatically ban these people from your relays you've connected to it as well without your knowledge. Nobody should have remote control over your servers in any way or form.

Every software seems promising when it first comes out because it's new wait a few years for reviews. I have seen Team Soapbox behave rudely to people in their own community & ban people without proper cause. They do not respect laws or proper regulation they will abuse you if they don't like you.

People in Nostr have been making posts about how Team Soapbox has abused them & when trying to get an appeal or support they do not even bother to respond to those people. Some of the members block those users from their profile so they don't even see the support messages or appeals as the saying goes block & pay no mind.

Do you really want to use software created by people with very rigid views, unethical measures, & act without proper cause? People who ignore support or appeals from users is just a bad way of management when providing a service to the public. You have no knowledge of what the terms of privacy policy is for all you know they could be harvesting your text & media & selling it to data banks.

The other recommended providers are their friends you have no knowledge of what their terms, privacy policy, or view points are unlike Simplex which shows you a terms of service & privacy policy also they don't just make anyone a recommended provider just because their friends. Simplex has terms & conditions for other server hosts who want to apply to become a recommended provider ensuring all recommended providers will handle user data with proper care ensuring privacy & will not abuse the users with unfair treatment or unethical measures which abuse your rights.

Team Soapbox has none so I urge extreme caution that if you use this you have an idea of what to expect. I highly recommend you find other relays to connect to & do not use Team Soapbox's defaults & recommended relays inside of this application. In my opinion you should find another app that uses the concord protocols & don't use the Vector app as an alternative.

I expected some lag due to the syncing but there was none.
