I want to love Rentry but it doesn't support password-first page...
This paste site is one of the best in terms of convenience. It has a unique system that doesn't just allow markdown (with image embedding) pastes from the landing page without login, but it elects to simply not even have a user account system at all. So expect to copy your URLs and save them somewhere. One thing I dislike (which I unfortunately didnt learn till i had over 100 pastes) is that there is a sort of, unconventional type of semi-social gamification element. Not much info on it, you apparently just have to be "in the know" about it. Essentially what it is, is that the custom URLs ppl set have a digital non-monetary value to them, and some users pride themself on their large accumulation of "good" or "rare" namespaces (URLs). Only issue I have personally, is the fact that they allow "URL staking/claiming" and if you have an inactive paste, other users can attempt to "claim" it, and can then take over your paste, and change the edit code.
Very useful when you need to share lot of informations like a megathread
Elegantly simple yet powerful.
Although the entry here at AlternativeTo.net is hyperbolic -- it's just an online service. Just because an online service can be used from any OS does NOT mean that all the OSs should be labelled in the compatibility box. As far as I understand the mention in an AlternativeTo.net entry MEANS that there is an installable program available for that OS.
Well, theoretically with the PWA web-standard, its technically true 🤷♂️
No bullsh*t, just markdown
A dead simple way to send markdown text (or code snippet for that matter). Includes CLI.
