What is Rename-It!?
Rename-It! can rename in seconds multiple files, that can be in different folders. It is incorporated in the Windows Shell (via Explorers context menu). Before renaming files, Rename-It checks the files names. The renaming itself is done by filters:
- Search & Replace: Replace a string by another. Support Regular expressions and Wildcards.
- Case: Make the file name uppercase, lowercase, ...
- Crop: Only keeps a part of the file name.
- ID3 Tag: For the MP3 files, read the ID3 informations and rename the file with your own criteria.

Been using it for years. Was confusing/overwhelming at first, but it has a Help menu (that I've never used) and explains things well enough throughout.
The website doesn't really have the latest version. "Rename-It! Shell Extension Universal Patch vers 2.0" (aka: version 4 Alpha) can be found here: https://www.software-on-demand-ita.com/Downloads/RenameIt Page is Italian, but the program is in English. This version makes the shell extension work on 64bit Windows 10.
One of the best renamers I've ever used. Tried Bulk Rename Utility, Ant Renamer, and several others, but always fall back to this one. Supports regular expressions and MP3 ID3 info. But doesn't support image info (IPTC or EXIF data). I wish it did.
