Old and quirky. You're likely better off with RegistryChangesView ..faster and reusable. In Regshot, Unicode HTML uses old UTF‑16 HTML, which loads jumbled in browsers. Ansi html works ok. You can't reuse the screenshots. There's no load option, and if you put the saved file name in the line, it will write over it with different information- bad. So you need to let the program run until ready to make the 2nd shot. Since the shots are saved in .hiv format,...

What is Regshot?
Regshot is a small, free and open-source registry compare utility. Compare before & after registry shots when making system changes or installing new software. The changes report can be produced in text or HTML format and contains a list of all modifications that have taken place between snapshot1 and snapshot2. In addition, you can also specify folders (with subfolders) to be scanned for changes as well.

There's no load option, and if you put the saved file name in the line, it will write over it with different information- bad. So you need to let the program run until ready to make the 2nd shot. Since the shots are saved in .hiv format, they might be usable in some other comparison program. I didn't have luck trying them in registrychangesview which supposedly uses .hiv files too. MJ Regwatcher is another good program. It keeps a running log of registry changes. Automatic with no fuss.
It supports only own format of registry copy. If I exported reg file via regedit then I cannot compare it via this tool.
Regshot does not use .REG files for comparison. As the blurb states ... " use Regshot to create Shot#1 and Shot#2" for comparisons
