I like Reader because it has a good interface across all the platforms I use. I like using Ghostreader (the in-built AI) to summarise documents, and the Feed function to gather everything I might want to read in one place.

I use like and pay for Reader, but I would say it has some significant issues:

  • Doesn't have the ability to filter incoming feeds using keywords/regex/tags
  • Doesn't support automatic tagging of inbox or feed articles
  • Doesn't have any ability to "regenerate" a clean/parsed view of an article when the first attempt doesn't work
  • Parsing of articles is often buggy - I report a few broken articles most days.
  • Expensive for what it is - it's basically Pocket with an AI summarise button and it supports following along with a YouTube transcript, but that doesn't justify costing 3x as much
