What is Quire Markdown?

Quire Markdown is a viewer for README files, technical notes, and coding-agent plans. It can open local files, accept dropped files, or paste Markdown content, without altering the original file. Features include a heading outline, find function, and viewing content in rendered, source, or split views. It can render tables, task lists, and code with syntax highlighting and a copy button, and offers light, dark, or system themes. If a file is opened, it can be refreshed and followed as changes are made. An HTML copy can be printed or downloaded, and the tool stores up to ten recent documents in your browser.

Quire Markdown works at a local level, so no account, analytics, uploads, or document images are needed. It can open UTF-8 text up to 2 MB but does not render diagrams or equations. It is part of the Quire suite of private readers for Chrome, including Quire EPUB Reader and Quire PDF.
