Quarter Past is a time tracker for macOS that asks instead of watching.
Every fifteen minutes a small card appears by the menu bar asking what you have been doing. One tap answers it, and the quarter-hour that has just passed is logged against a project, so forgetting to start a timer costs you nothing. Answer at 09:15 and 09:00 to 09:15 is recorded. Forget for an hour and it asks about the hour instead.
It never reads your screen, your documents or the websites you visit. There is no account and no server: the record is a file on your own Mac that you can read, export and delete, and the app works entirely offline.
Every entry records whether it was measured live or reconstructed afterwards, so the record is honest about its own gaps. You can write down what you intend to do in a week and see it beside what actually happened, with the difference shown and nothing scored. At the end of a fortnight the app writes an analysis of where the time went, designed to be pasted into an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT.
Entries export to CSV for invoicing and timesheets. The prompt interval is adjustable from 5 to 60 minutes, with quiet hours and quiet days.
