QRshare

QR Share is a browser-based file sharing service that turns an uploaded file into a QR code and a short download link. The sender signs in, drops in a file, and receives a code that any phone camera can scan to start the download. The person receiving it needs nothing at all: no account, no app, and no email address handed over.

Its purpose is the transfer that other tools cannot reach. AirDrop, Quick Share, LocalSend, PairDrop and Snapdrop all require both devices to be present, discoverable and on the same network or in the same ecosystem. A QR link works to a machine the sender will never pair with, such as a hotel business centre, a library terminal, a print shop counter or a colleague's locked-down laptop, and to a phone on cellular data in another country. Unlike WeTransfer it does not require the recipient's email address, and unlike Google Drive or Dropbox it does not ask the recipient to hold an account.

Uploading requires a verified email address, deliberately and permanently. The service was previously used to distribute malware, and an account requirement is the control that stopped it. That constraint applies only to the sender, who signs in once; the receiving side stays frictionless.

Files are limited to 128 MB and are deleted automatically after 8 hours, not on request. Storage is self-hosted in the European Union and the operator is a named sole trader in Prague, Czech Republic, acting as data controller. Analytics are consent-gated. The site also includes a standalone QR code generator for plain text, URLs and Wi-Fi network credentials, with PNG and SVG export; the Wi-Fi password is encoded in the browser and never sent to the server.
