Fast and powerful operating system based on the latest technologies while offering highly productive desktop environment. We focus on security, reliability, long-term stability and conservative integration of verified new features. System is distinguished by speed and very low hardware requirements, runs great on brand new machines as well as legacy computers. It is also very applicable for virtualization and cloud computing.
Q4OS uses Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE) by default.
Does not work well on my Acer netbook. Slow to boot. Not all hardware recognized during install, and doesn't install proprietary drivers at all. Web video above 240p basically won't play. Video files on HDD at 480p stutter and lag with CPU at 100%. Appimages and Java apps won't execute, even though set to in GUI. Menus unintuitive. Other annoyances.
Mint and Manjaro xfce don't have these problems on the same hardware.
Only plus is it uses relatively little RAM and CPU at idle. Otherwise pretty useless for me.

Said about Q4OS as an alternative
Q4OS have windows xp-like user interface and it works smooth on the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B v1.2.
Positive comment • about 3 years ago • as an alternative to Windows XP
MD98SY it started as a distro that aims to mimic the feel of Windows XP, and it does it fairly well in my opinion, uses a lightweight yet great desktop environment (Trinity), making an excellent option for XP users who want to switch to Linux.
