Comments and Reviews
Installing was a BREEZE, and performance is GREAT, on my 32-bit netbook with 2GB RAM. The desktop layout will also be familiar to any Windows user. Some essential apps are included, like LibreOffice, and a store with more compatible freeware apps is available.
The only problem so far is that neither the included browser, nor Chromium from their store, renders a popular financial services / trading website correctly. I'm trying Midori next, which I expect to work.
This is intended for low spec machines, not gaming rigs, although simple games are included. For even lower spec machines, see KolibriOS, which includes basic apps and near 8-bit games. Netbook installation took less than a minute.
Does not work well on my Acer netbook. Slow to boot. Not all hardware recognized during install, and doesn't install proprietary drivers at all. Web video above 240p basically won't play. Video files on HDD at 480p stutter and lag with CPU at 100%. Appimages and Java apps won't execute, even though set to in GUI. Menus unintuitive. Other annoyances.
Mint and Manjaro xfce don't have these problems on the same hardware.
Only plus is it uses relatively little RAM and CPU at idle. Otherwise pretty useless for me.
