Automated diagram rendering is a life-changer.

Since it converts text to an image, the text can be tracked for changes across time (ie, git). Also frees one self from arranging all pieces of a diagram, or assuring that lines point to where they should be pointing, since it is arranged automatically. The default visuals are little bit ugly, tough.

i dont like this software because

  • No web version
  • 100% Relies on Java and plain text langunage
  • not user friendly

  • http://www.plantuml.com/plantuml/uml/ Plaintext is good for dealing with. Binary is bad. Can't say it's unfriendly: if you know what you're to achieve — it's very friendly. If you want to play with figures or so, then you'd better choose more visual-based solution, like Visual Paradigm.
