What is Particl Marketplace?
Particl Marketplace is a one-of-a-kind e-commerce platform that lets you buy and sell goods and services online with nobody in between. It’s just you and the other person you’re dealing with. There’s no company operating, controlling, or benefiting from the marketplace.
Unlike Amazon, eBay, or any other in-betweens, it is built with core security and privacy principles that keep you and your data safe at all times.
That means, just using Particl Marketplace helps you prevent being treated as an exploited product. Without additional efforts, like casually, you contribute to the well-being of our society by directly supporting individuals and small businesses all across the world, not corporations.
Stand for fairness for consumers, equal opportunity for merchants and vendors, and freedom for all people. Let others not take control of you. Give it a try; you’ll fall in love with it!
Make a conscious decision that gives you freedom and improves your life:
- You benefit from lower product prices as a customer and higher margins as a vendor.
- You protect your privacy to avoid identity theft and data leaks.
- You become the captain of your personal information.
- You gain immunity against online fraud.
- You can’t get restricted.
- You say goodbye to spam and unwarranted solicitations.
- You fight against global economic and social inequalities.
Advanced and easy-to-use technology empowers you, your local economy, but not the corporate monopolies that prey on it. Feel like a hero fighting our generation’s most powerful villains!
Particl Marketplace relies on open-source technologies that are openly audited, inspected, and improved by a global community. It is based on distributed ledger and peer-to-peer technologies. It runs on a network of independent nodes hosted by volunteers scattered across the world. The entirely autonomous platform doesn’t require any central party to operate or maintain, which means no company or organization is between buyers and sellers.

However, try to sell some item and you must conclude it's halfbaked at least, a scam at worst: The network is run by all yet you pay a publishing fee for 1 day up to 1 week. Bad enough it doesn't stay until sold. Worse still, how much is the fee? You don't know until purchase some of their PART-currency. I do understand that devs need to pay rent, too. I just dislike such clandestine approach. Nah, done here - next one, please!

Completely encrypted, private, global, truly decentralised e-commerce platform.

Other perspective:
It is functional, but at an early stage of the product's lifecycle. Even the biggest marketplaces on earth had their difficulties at an early stage. It evolves.
The root is this publishing fee is there to mitigate spam since no value based fees, or subscription fees apply, and no data is created about the participants on both ends. Fortunately, it's not a fixed value. It's a figure the community is mandated to vote on. At the time of writing today, 100 listings for a 30 day's duration consume about ~$80. Which is somewhat too high, and should be lower. So, the community must act here until an equilibrium at $10 - $15 has concluded, IMHO.
On the other hand, if you sell 100 items at the big tech’s with an average price of 30 Bucks, you’ll pay something around ~$800-$1000 in fees. I am unsure if that’s healty long-term except for the marketplace operator.
The developers do not benefit from the listing fees. These spam fight-off fees get redistributed to the people's nodes who help securing the network.
Perhaps I can encourage you once again to help foster a world towards more freedom, fairness, and prosperty. Your valuable opinion within the community could have lead to fee adjustments within a blink.

Thanks for your encouraging feedback :) Client looks better/faster now. Still, the main problem persists:
No coins means I cannot offer anything means I cannot get coins
You certainly must see this conundrum? Instead people who have coins do get more coins by staking - I wouldn't even mind that but how is one supposed to get started (other than buying PART)?
Would my running client/core earn anything within a reasonable time (a week, a month) to get started?

Decentralised, anonymous, non profit!
If you like to keep your data private from snooping eyes, this is a great platform to look into.
I think it is a good private worldwide solution
