What is Paintbrush?
Paintbrush is a simple paint program for Mac OS X, reminiscent of Microsoft Paint and Apple’s own now-defunct MacPaint. It provides users with a means to make simple images quickly, something which has been noticeably absent from the Mac for years.

Said about Paintbrush as an alternative
It's very simple and feels like MS Paint, but I can use it for simple drawings. You can even switch colour modes (I personally love the crayon mode).
Paintbrush has a very simple interface in which you can draw and paint... no layers, but .png files can be saved. Really, it's a much closer alternative to Microsoft Paint, but I can also do a few things that would be tricky in FireAlpaca.
