P2PVPN is described as 'Creates a virtual private network for you which behaves like a physical network (e.g. your network at home). But instead of using an Ethernet cable to connect computers P2PVPN uses secure Internet connections' and is a VPN service in the security & privacy category. There are more than 25 alternatives to P2PVPN for a variety of platforms, including Linux, Windows, Mac, Android and iPhone apps. The best P2PVPN alternative is OpenVPN Connect, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like P2PVPN are WireGuard, LogMeIn Hamachi, ZeroTier and SoftEther VPN.
IPOP offers true P2P LAN VPNs, unlike Hamachi, ZeroTier, Radmin, etc. which all require a central server. IPOP (last updated 2018) is the only alternative I've found to P2PVPN (last updated 2010). It is also still updated in 2018.
