Open3D Viewer information
What is Open3D Viewer?
Open3D Viewer is a free 3D file viewer for Windows, Android, iOS, and the web. It opens STL, GLB, OBJ, FBX, PLY, 3MF meshes plus CAD formats like STEP, IGES and DXF — no account, no upload, no subscription.
Built as a direct replacement for Microsoft 3D Viewer, which Microsoft removed from the Microsoft Store on July 1, 2026. On Windows it registers file associations for every supported format so double-clicking a .stl or .glb "just works" again. On phones it's the walk-around viewer 3D-printing hobbyists actually reach for. On the web at open3d.app it's a browser tab that renders your file locally without touching a server.
Features: point-to-point measurement in real units, cross-section on any axis, walk-through mode for architectural models, HDRI environment lighting, solid/wireframe/X-ray modes, screenshot + animated GIF capture, print-readiness checks for STL/OBJ/3MF.
