Old Light information
What is Old Light?
Old Light is a free browser strategy game set in one shared galaxy that never resets. You start with a single star system and grow it, over real days and weeks, into an empire spread across hexes you share with everyone else playing.
It is slow on purpose. Builds take minutes to hours and run in real time, even with the tab closed. Nothing punishes you for logging off. A few minutes in the morning and at night is enough to check your queue, read your reports, and send a fleet.
Most of your rivals stay hidden. Nearby empires show up as a name and a score per system. What is actually parked there, and what they are building, you only learn by sending a probe, and probe data ages fast. The empire next to yours belongs to someone real, on their own schedule, and they know you are there.
Build your systems, scout your neighbours, claim territory that spreads outward from your stars, and pick fights with rivals you think you can break. It is one long game with no rounds and no reset, and money cannot buy a stronger empire.
