As a creator I first have to 'earn' credits to upload my content. WTF. So apparently , it's not 'credit' enough that I took hours to create a video and I'm going to contribute that for free to your platform? Sheesh.

Brilliant alterative to Youtube.
Brilliant indeed! While on youtube free speech is suppressed, on Odysee one can find a lot of people who love free speech heartily.
The DMCA system is very bad. There is no strikes system and no warnings. It's a DMCA troll's paradise. Just one false DMCA claim and everything you have uploaded will be flagged with "DMCA claim" and taken down. It hits the entire account, not the just the offending video!
It will not tell you what item was hit with the claim, who claimed it, or why. Not even removing every single thing on the account will not remove the DMCA claim flag. Odysee has zero way to dispute DMCAs outside of emailing them directly. But filing a DMCA claim is as easy as hitting the "report" button.
Because of this very poor system, I can not recommend Odysee.

Unlike other alternative platforms (BitChute, Rumble), there seems to be equal footing for both left and right wing perspectives on political issues. Also unlike Bitchute and Rumble, there seems to be an audience for non-political content. HOWEVER, there are issues with the editing of videos, and more importantly, there's no real way to make money on the platform outside of cryptocurrency donations. In fact, the platform is tied at the hip with cryptocurrency, a speculative asset that can violently fluxuate in value, and can be difficult to convert into actual, usable currencies.
Great YouTube alternative! Very low censorship, but even if they hide your video - it will still be available in the blockchain, so basically it is almost zero censorship. Disadvantages: you cannot modify your videos after upload, so you'll need to upload a full video again even if you want to make a little change. Let's hope that it will become more popular and a real competitor to YouTube!
So far, so good. There are obvious limitations, but I will update this comment regarding my current experience.
