What is Nimblist?

Nimblist is a collaborative grocery list the whole household shares — add and tick items together and every change appears on everyone's device in real time, so you never buy the milk someone already grabbed. Items auto-sort into supermarket aisles, and you can add them by voice, barcode, or typing.

It also does the things most shopping-list apps don't:

• Turn any recipe into a list — import from a URL, or snap a photo of a cookbook page or handwritten card and Nimblist reads the ingredients straight onto your list. • Cook from what you already have — track your kitchen pantry, see what you can make right now, skip cupboard items when adding a recipe, and get free use-by estimates so less food spoils. • Plan the week — a simple meal planner that builds your shopping list as you go, shareable with the people you cook for.

Works with the rest of your life too: add items hands-free with Alexa, connect it to Home Assistant, wire it into 6,000+ apps with Zapier, capture recipes from your laptop with the browser extension, and keep adding offline when the supermarket signal drops.

Privacy-conscious by design: export your data anytime, no ad tracking, and a free self-hosting Community Edition for the technically inclined.

Free to use, with an optional Premium upgrade for pantry-to-recipe matching and photo pantry import.
