I think it is worth a try, this is opened on github, and could replace the IDM, because IDM is not free. this one is totally free, so I think it works good actually. for my own computer, I did not scan out any virus, you could try yourself

With reference to the malware warning above for an executable windows file purporting to be NeatDowloadManager, my upload of the mac version of NeatDownloadManager obtained from the author's website revealed the app to be 100% completely clean. A very good download manager, easy to use and nicely structured. It has a simple but practical design. It has speed and may beat the IDM in the near future. However, it is perfectable.
This app has a great feature count to size ratio. For 1,014 kilobytes, it boasts performance and features on par with Internet Download Manager.
On the minus side, its user interface is full of English typos. Also, it is not digitally signed, which is why a small number of antivirus software have flagged it.
Because the developer is Persian.
