MyParticularNotes is a lightweight, privacy-focused note-taking application that automatically displays your notes based on which application you're actively using. The core feature is deceptively simple but genuinely useful: notes follow your workflow. Open Chrome and your research notes appear. Switch to Word and your writing notes are there. Close the app and switch back later—your notes reappear exactly where you left them. This eliminates the friction of manually hunting through folders or tabs to find context-specific information.

All notes are encrypted locally on your machine using AES-256-GCM encryption. Nothing syncs to the cloud, no accounts are required, and no data ever leaves your system. The encryption key is derived from your Windows username, meaning even if someone gains access to your notes folder, the files remain unreadable without your login credentials.

The application runs a minimal background watcher that checks your foreground window a few times per second. Memory usage stays under 50MB on typical systems, and CPU impact is negligible. You won't notice it running, which is exactly the point, it should fade into the background and just work.
