MoveToPlay is a screen time app for kids on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Children earn screen time by exercising and doing chores a parent approves. Minutes go into a bank and never expire.
Each day the app picks three activities as Today's Quest, from strength, cardio, mobility, balance and recovery, within limits the parent sets: difficulty, low-impact only, the equipment the family has and the places the child can exercise. Completing an activity banks minutes. If a parent turns on Apple Health steps, walking earns minutes too.
For chores, a parent sets what each one is worth. The child taps "I did it", the parent approves, and the minutes are banked. A parent can ask for a photo or a short note as proof.
Banked minutes can be spent on a timed play session, or on a real-world reward the parent prices, like a movie night. Unused minutes from a session that ends early go back into the bank.
App locking is optional and works on iPhone and iPad only, using Apple's Family Controls. With it on, the apps a parent picks stay blocked until the child spends banked minutes to start a play session, and they are blocked again when the countdown reaches zero. With it off, play time runs on the honour system with a visible countdown. Apple Watch and Mac can't lock apps.
Parents use a dashboard protected by a parent code. From there they set chore values, activity rewards, play session lengths, a weekly maximum on what a child can earn through their own effort, and pause windows for bedtime or school. Each child has their own bank, quests, progression and rewards.
There is no account and no sign-up. A parent code is set on the device, and iCloud is optional, used only to keep a second device in sync. The app has no ads and no advertising or analytics SDKs, and its Apple privacy manifest declares no tracking.
MoveToPlay is Apple-only: iPhone and iPad (iOS 18 or later) and Apple Watch (watchOS 11 or later). There is no Android version.
It is free to download, and setup is free. To use the app, a parent either starts the Annual or Monthly Family subscription, or buys Lifetime once for $19.99 (US price). New subscribers get a 2-week free trial, after which the subscription renews unless it is cancelled in Settings. Lifetime and both subscriptions can be shared through Apple's Family Sharing.
