What is Misskey?
Misskey is a decentralized microblogging platform born on Earth.
Since it exists within the Fediverse (a universe where various social media platforms are organized), it is mutually linked with other social media platforms such as 
Mastodon and 
Pleroma.
Features:
- Post your ideas, discussion topics, fun moments, or anything else you want to share! Misskey supports text, emoji, pictures, videos, and polls!
- Reactions are the simplest way to respond to others' posts. Simply pick a reaction emote from the list! Reactions on Misskey are much more expressive than other social media services which only allow “liking”.

It's very feature rich and I love it, Misskey also has special markdown support called MFM and it has so many options
It's incredibly feature rich especially when compared to Mastodon: emoji reactions, markdown support, bubbles (tabs that show all posts from selected instances, as defined by server admins), channels (member run groups for specific topics)
The backend also scales better than mastodon.
Federated self-hosted social network specifically created to cater Japanese internet culture.
The UI/UX might contrast to Western-developed fediverse software like Mastodon or Pixelfed, but it doesn't mean a bad thing.
Go use this if you want a modern social media, but with cool post customization features like 2000's social media.
It is lightweight yet feature-packed.
