LibreOffice - Base vs Microsoft Office Access Comments
form based on a query containing different tables and relationships are not editable
Definitely not similar to MS Access in the most fundamental ways. The interface is horrible. It crashes constantly. Requires Java SDK to be installed (aka, isn't independent). The embedded database idea is ambitious but doesn't work and sometimes data and table cells magically go missing. Querying to create interactive reports? It's there but isn't robust or dynamic. Datatype formatting doesn't function. If you're a noob and trying to learn, don't bother because their help system isn't as complete or understandable to someone that doesn't have a grasp on at least low-intermediate level concepts. Relationships don't work or break. The application crashes completely at the "best" times possible...I could keep going, but I guess all I mean to say is that it's not appropriate for or stable in Windows 11 at all.

- LibreOffice - Base is Free and Open Source

LibreOffice is the most popular office suite on Linux and the open source community. It's completely free and open source, while the latest version of Microsoft Access requires a subscription. Based on OpenOffice Base, LibreOffice Base is a popular alternative to Access.
