What is MediaFire?
MediaFire is the simple solution for uploading and downloading files on the internet. It focuses on providing a positive experience for downloaders, but does not offer an affiliate program for uploaders.
Files hosted on MediaFire can be directly accessed- there is no wait time to start a download, and there is no limit to how much or how often you can download. Multiple files may be downloaded simultaneously.

No popups, no wait times, no captcha, fast as hell. Heck I'd take any one of these penalties over anything else, if there was one.
PROS: Good free hosting No waiting to download No stupid surveys
CONS: Slow free download
I always get a speed of 400-800 kbps when using Mediafire, which I don't consider slow by any means. Sure, it's not as fast as bittorrent, but it's pretty good compared to other download websites. In my personal experience, Mediafire is faster than:
In addition, Mediafire is on par with the speeds of Rapidshare and Megaupload.

I usually receive 100kbps compared to the usual 400+ I get from Megaupload, though I think it would be due to my location and Internet bundle (Rogers express). After my upgrade to my Internet however, I received much faster download speed of at least 400-600kbps.

Watch out for the ads, when you download something you will get a page with pop-ups. use it at your own risk.

Using MediaFire as my main cloud storage for almost 3 years. (paid pro subscription).
It always worked for me, but there are a few things which I do not like about this service.
First of all, the ultra slow speed. Sometimes the download speed is so extremely slow, I am thinking about to quit my subscription. It sometimes use only 20-30% of my internet speed.
Another thing which I do not like is, that they do not offer a Sync client on Windows. I even tried to code my own one, but they also shut down the SDKs. You are not able to create an appId & appKey to connect with the service. Very suspicious in my eyes.
Last but not least - lack of innovation. I like things simple and clean, but MediaFire did not changed for years in features. Only the design changed last year I think, but no new features.
I don't know but I think I must search for an alternative because I feel like my data is not safe there. It always worked fine for me but there is a kinda bad feeling.
So I give 3 stars, because all in all the service is cheap and its working.
We have a paid membership and 99% of our uploads are through the desktop app. They just discontinued the desktop app... That means we will be discontinuing our membership. Their support is terrible, try finding an actual email address. I got better service from them through Facebook.
New desktop app is in the works.

I have an account with mediafire and I had boiled my decisions based upon my needs to two factors: cost vs storage and the ability to watch my media whereever I was.
I was told yesterday in an email from support that the reason I could no longer find the LISTEN or WATCH function is because they have removed it and it is no longer supported.
So now they are just like every other cloud storage.
When my membership is expired I will cancel and move everything over to something better.
I am pretty upset by this because what I PAID FOR I am no longer able to enjoy!
BOO TO YOU MEDIAFIRE
