LocalREST is an API client that runs as a browser extension. There is no desktop app to install, no account, and no cloud sync.
Build a request: method, URL, query parameters, headers, and a JSON, text, form-data or url-encoded body. Authenticate with a Bearer token, Basic auth or an API key. Keep several requests open as tabs, organise them into collections, and substitute {{variables}} from environments.
Paste a curl command into the URL bar and it becomes a request — including what DevTools' "Copy as cURL" puts on your clipboard. Import and export Postman collections, v2.0 and v2.1.
Everything is stored in your browser and never sent anywhere. No analytics, no server, no account. It installs asking for no site access at all — permission is requested one host at a time, the first time you send to that host. The source is public on GitHub, so the privacy claims are checkable rather than promised.
