What is LightGitPad?

LightGitPad brings a project's file tree, syntax-highlighted code and Git changes into one desktop window. It provides side-by-side diffs, commit history, a branch list and rendered Markdown previews. It is useful for checking changes made by coding assistants such as Claude Code and Codex.

The app does not call an AI service and needs no account or API key. Committing, pushing, pulling and switching branches remain with the user or coding assistant.

LightGitPad is free and open source under the MIT license, implemented in C++ and Qt 6. Version 0.2.18 is available for Windows 10/11 x64 and macOS 12 or later on Apple Silicon and Intel. Git 2.23 or later is required. It is an early 0.x release; builds are not signed with paid certificates, and the README explains first-launch steps.
