What is layerling?

layerling is a 3D editor for people who design parts for 3D printing. It runs entirely in the browser: there is no account, nothing to install, and nothing is uploaded - projects live in the browser's own storage and exports download straight to your machine.

It works the way Tinkercad does, so anyone coming from there will recognise it immediately: shapes are dragged onto a workplane, every shape is either a solid or a cut-out, and grouping makes the cut-outs remove material. Fillets and chamfers can be put on the edges of a finished solid, and there are sketches with curves, revolved shapes, gears and real dimensions.

Import and export cover STL, OBJ, STEP and SVG - the STEP export is real B-Rep, because OpenCascade runs along as WebAssembly. The interface comes in German and English. An MCP server is included, so an AI assistant can build and change geometry alongside you.

layerling is free software under the AGPL-3.0 and a fork of SketchForge-3D. It can be self-hosted on any web server that serves static files.
