What is Koi Editor?
Koi is a fast, native code editor for macOS built around low-latency editing, local workflows, and privacy.
It works fully offline with no accounts or telemetry, and supports local AI through Ollama for code completion and inline chat. Koi also works alongside external AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Aider, and Codex, automatically reloading files when they are modified externally.
Koi supports large files, multiple cursors, split editors, detachable tabs and multiple synchronized views of the same document. It can be extended with custom commands written in Python and includes native macOS menus, shortcuts, drag-and-drop, and window management.
