Kavanati (כוונתי) fixes a very Israeli problem: you start typing, the keyboard is still on the other language, and "שלום" comes out as "akuo". Kavanati watches what you type system-wide, recognizes a word typed in the wrong layout, and replaces it as you type, in WhatsApp, Chrome, Gmail, Word, Outlook, VS Code, Slack, Teams and any other app. It also switches the keyboard layout for you, so the next word comes out right.
Everything runs on your computer: keystrokes are processed in memory and never leave the machine, and password fields are never processed. On Windows it is a single file, also available in the Microsoft Store. On macOS it is a Developer ID-signed, Apple-notarized menu-bar app.
Highlights:
- Automatic fix as you type, Hebrew ↔ English, in every app
- Manual fix of the whole line with one key (Pause on Windows, ⌘P on Mac, or double-tap Ctrl), free and unlimited
- Ctrl+Z right after a fix undoes it; undo the same word twice and it is protected forever
- Per-app rules: Auto, English-only, or Never fix (terminals and code editors default to English-only)
- Personal dictionary that learns the words you use (Pro)
- Offline license activation; IT deployment through Group Policy, Intune or MDM for teams
Free: 7 days unlimited, then 15 automatic fixes per day plus unlimited manual fixes. Pro: unlimited, up to 3 computers, ₪99 per year. Business: per-computer licensing for organizations.
