With Windows Photo Viewer discontinued by Microsoft in Windows 10 and the standard Photos app being useless, this is now my standard image viewer. It's fast and minimalistic, even some very basic editing capabilities. I'd recommend to dig through the configuration file to adapt it to your needs (like bigger buttons).
Very nice viewer.. I wish it did cropping, and I'd like a choice on opening in Full Window mode as it does. "Basic Image Editor: sharpness, color, balance, rotation, perspective, contrast, local under-exposure/over-exposure" Compared to qview, it seems to run lighter and the image quality looks better.
I use JPEGView because it's minimalistic and lightweight. It is under 10mb, which is almost 1/10 of the size of other closed-source apps like Nomacs or Qview.
I found this a few months ago and have been using it ever since. It's one of those times where you're emotionally kicking yourself for not doing it sooner.
It's just a perfect image viewer and the fact it hasn't been updated since 2018 shows it's near perfect. If only this was continued.
The only drawback I have noticed since using it for some months is GIF's do not seem to work, after all it's called JPEGView so maybe it's not intended, but an image viewer that only views one format seems kind of silly.
What's great about this is it's so compact, no unnecessary tool bars, no extra baggage, if you need details about the image you can enable the overlay. Right clicking is packed with things you may need.
I'll say it again, it just needs to be continued.
It's great, adjustable, light and simple ...for jpg images. Unfortunately it doesn't support HEIC/HEIF so I'm here, looking for alternative :(
Lightweight with fast loading times. Love the lack of a bezel especially when zooming, perfect for reading book scans and comics. Wish display order preferences didn't reset after closing and there was a more intuitive menu for keyboard shortcuts. Really not intuitive at all if you want to customize your experience.
Top quality. Lightweight. fast. !!
