Free program with same functionality and updated looks. Workflow is more streamlined, according to some. Available in the browser as well as on the desktop, both portable and installer versions are available. Covers all the bases!

ElTortuga It's free as Inkscape is which is very important so maintaining that quality is a must. (This excludes Adobe and other commercial alternatives). Less buggy than Inkscape and better UI. The UI is particularly better due to its dark theme, I'm not a fan of software that is bright and tend to code with a black background.

LibreOffice Draw is a very simple drawing suite. It may be sufficient for many, but not sufficient to be declared an alternative to InkScape.

LibreOffice draw is good for schemes, but not for what Inkscape does - Inkscape is a graphic design tool, not a scheme creator.
