I would NOT recommend InfluxDB to anyone because it has concurrency bugs in it and their team of developers does nothing to address those bugs. I have been using InfluxDB for a paid project at my main job for around 2 years and it has been a mixed bag.
On one hand the storage space usage with InfluxDB is pretty great. The data is stored compactly and you can save $ on storage space.
On the other hand, the weird bugs completely negate all of the positive qualities of InfluxDB. Sometimes it just stops responding for no reason and it is not just me; other people complain about this bug too. But Influx team will never fix it until their paying customers run into this bug.
I regret ever using InfluxDB it has been an endless source of headaches for me
It seems a bit off to qualify Influx as 'Free - Open Source' software... Especially with the pretty narrow scope of InfluxDB 3 core... Some of the code is closed source, and querying old data is now behind a paywall... I mean, if this is still "Free - Open Source" software, idk. Plus there is this pretty weird transition from v2 to v3. I don't like that., it feels like Open source washing to me. The foss edtion has nearly no value right now
