What is IFTTT?
IFTTT (If This Then That) is a web-based platform that automates over 1000 apps, devices, and services. It allows users to create custom integrations without coding knowledge. The platform has 27 million users and partnerships with over 900 brands such as Twitter, Google Drive, and Amazon Alexa. It also integrates with the Health app for habit tracking.
Users can create or use existing Applets for automation. The user-friendly interface requires no coding knowledge and runs over 1 billion Applets monthly for personal and professional use. The platform enhances automations with filter code, queries, multiple actions, and multiple account connections. Applets can control smart devices, update news, automate home security alerts, back up files, and trigger location-based events. New services are added weekly.

Although more limited in customization than Zapier, unlike Zapier it gives you 2 free automations without limits. I use it to transfer finished TickTick tasks into Notion for record keeping.
It's become freemium, with only 5 free automations :(
only 3 now :(
only 2 now :(
Unbearable. Every free feature is going under a paywall.
THE SERVICE FACILITATES THE ROUTINE PROCEDURE
IFTTT is the only automation tool that I can use to connect Evernote Web Clipper posts to my WordPress blog, using the steps broken down in this article: https://jeannieruesch.com/2018/02/tech-rescue-save-time-evernote-wordpress-workflow/
The free plan is enough to test the trigger but it will most likely require to upgrade to the premium plan (about $4 USD/m) to truly use this automation to its full extent. I wanted to go with Zapier but only IFTTT allowed to publish images saved in my Evernote Web Clipper over to WordPress as unique media library items (now belonging to my blog and no longer retained on Evernote proprietary app).
I couldn't achieve this time-saving automation without IFTTT.
The developers of the service has introduced the new Premium subscription plan and paywalled features that used to be free.
Now you can create only 3 automation tasks for free (We used to be able to create unlimited automaton tasks) so now you have to hope that there are existing automation tasks that are already created by others that fits your needs if you have already hit the 3 automation tasks limit.
Features that we used to get for free is now taken away and the only way to get them back is to pay up. It is understandable if the premium subscription add more feature, but paywalling existing feature does not sit right with me. At least come up with new ideas if you want people to pay for it.
It's just not what it once was. As of September 10, 2020, a subscription plan was created and some free features were moved into the Pro subscription plan, rather than just adding enhanced features. It's no longer free to use what you could once use for free. I can't really even call this Freemium, knowing the history behind it. Let's watch where these ratings go ...

Here's an e-mail message they've sent (all links go to the ifttt.com or help.ifttt.com websites):
Your current plan, the free-forever IFTTT Standard plan, no longer supports creating unlimited Applets from scratch.
To date, you’ve created more than 3 Applets. If you do not upgrade to Pro before October 7th, all but 3 of your custom Applets will be automatically archived.
For more information about archived Applets, see What happens if I do not upgrade to IFTTT Pro?
Through October 7th, you may set the monthly price you want to pay to upgrade to Pro and we’ll honor it forever.

What is IFTTT Pro?

So what happens? Custom apps others have created go away because they delete them? Now I can't use them either? What's a "custom app," something I've configured with my own phone number to send myself or someone else a text message? ??
They've also completely removed the ability to duplicate an applet, a feature that existed before. This support article was created 2 months ago, so around July 2020: Can I duplicate an Applet? (Short answer: No! Follow link for the horrible "workaround" they suggest for this removed feature.)
Looks like there will only be corporate created ones going forward... so sad!
