A good alternative to some hex editors but unfortunately Andrew didn't leaved any expectative of new releases.
The app is listed as "Free", which, judging from the usage that term gets in this site, means it's free of charge but still proprietary. This is not so, as the program is licensed under the MIT license and the source code is provided in the site, even for the latest version.
From the license agreement in the installer:
License Agreement for the use of HexEdit 4.0.
The software, including source code, is distributed under the MIT license.
I thouht this editor is discontinued, since no new releases and updates on the site. But then I found GitHub link https://github.com/AndrewWPhillips/HexEdit in a CodeProject page comments. Version 5.0 is coming someday.
