I have had luck with Free HDClone before, and so I rate the program well. However, 05/24/2024 I cloned with the X.5 version and 2 hours in, it crashed citing drive error/unreadable. What is HDClone Free Edition?

The Free Edition of HDClone is a practical and comprehensive tool to clone, migrate and image disks. It supports HDD, SSD, NVMe, M.2, SD and USB media. By making physical copies, it can be used with any operating system and any file system. HDClone allows you to transfer entire system installations to newer disks quickly and easily (hard disk migration) and to easily create backups. It can also extend the file system size if needed. HDClone can be started in Windows and also self-booting if the OS is damaged. Therefore, HDClone is also the perfect solution to rescue data on damaged disks or system installations. The commercial versions HDClone Basic Edition, HDClone Standard Edition, HDClone Advanced Edition, HDClone Professional Edition (Portable) and HDClone Enterprise Edition (4x, 8x, 16x) offer a variety of extended features.
