What is Hay.chat?

Hay is a source-available AI customer service platform for e-commerce and SaaS teams where AI resolutions are bundled into a flat monthly fee, not charged per-resolution on top of your helpdesk. Your AI gets better, your bill stays flat.

Built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Hay connects AI reasoning to real business system actions: processing refunds via Shopify, creating tickets in Zendesk, updating records in HubSpot, and more across 9 integrations. The architecture separates the reasoning layer from action execution, with confidence scoring and two-stage validation on destructive operations.

Playbooks are configured in plain language, not visual flow builders. Full source code is available for audit under the Hay Community Licence v1.0 (source-available, not OSI-approved open source). The licence permits inspection, modification, and self-hosted deployment. It restricts operating Hay as a competing hosted service.
