What is HandIt!?
HandIt is a local marketplace with two sides: everyday work, and lending things you already own.
The work side: you post what needs doing (moving a sofa, a flat clean, assembling furniture, walking a dog, fixing a faucet, an hour of tutoring, an errand across town), people nearby apply, and you pick one. You pay by card up front and the money sits in escrow. When the job is finished you scan the helper's QR code, the payment is captured, and Stripe sends it straight to the helper's own bank account through Connect Express. Nobody chases anyone for cash, and nobody can walk off with a prepayment.
The borrow side: a drill, a ladder, a tent, a camera, a pressure washer. Most of them get used once and then sit in a cupboard for years. Owners list them, borrowers pay rent plus a refundable deposit, both held the same way, and the deposit is released when the item comes back in one piece.
One account works across iOS, Android and the web. The interface ships in 30+ languages and prices are shown in local currency (RON and EUR are live). The product was built and launched in Romania and that is where the community is busiest today, but the platform is not geo-locked by design.
Also included: chat with photos, reviews and ratings, map and list discovery, listing boosts, PDF receipts, a dispute flow with photo evidence, and DAC7 reporting for people who earn on the platform.
Free to sign up, no posting fee, no subscription required. The platform takes a flat 10% commission from the helper and a 5% service fee from the buyer, both only on completed jobs. An optional Plus plan exists.
