Grizzly is an open-source macOS application designed for browsing and extracting ZIP archives with speed and ease. It provides a clean, Finder-style interface with native system integrations to simplify ZIP file management.
- Hierarchical File Browser: Browse the contents of a ZIP file in a folder-tree layout, similar to Finder, making navigation easy and familiar
- Selective Extraction: Extract entire archives, individual files, or selected folders to any destination Quick Look Preview: Press the spacebar to preview supported files (text, images, PDFs, code, etc.) without needing to extract them
- Search & Filter: Quickly filter and locate files or directories within the archive by name
- Drag & Drop & File Picker: Open ZIP files by dragging them into the app or via the standard file-selection dialog
- Progress & Feedback: Visual indicators show extraction progress and status throughout operations
- Keyboard Navigation & Shortcuts: Navigate, select, and act on files using arrow keys, Cmd, Shift combinations, and familiar shortcuts
- Built with SwiftUI & Async/Await: Built using modern architecture and memory-efficient ZIP handling (via ZIPFoundation)
Built with SwiftUI and the ZIPFoundation library, Grizzly uses modern asynchronous architecture for efficient performance. It requires macOS 14.0 or newer and is available under the MIT license.
