Gitoza

Gitoza is a local-first test case manager for teams that want manual test cases versioned in Git instead of a cloud TMS or spreadsheet.

Test cases and run results are stored as YAML files in your repository. Engineers use the free VS Code extension to browse suites, write cases, and record manual test runs (pass, fail, skip) without leaving the editor. Cases stay next to your code, with full Git history and review workflows you already use.

For QA teams, Gitoza Desktop adds dashboards, structured test runs, review and approval workflows, and sync to a dedicated branch in your remote. There is no vendor-hosted database — you bring your own Git hosting (GitHub, GitLab, or any remote).

Gitoza fits small teams and side projects that have outgrown Excel or Google Sheets but do not want the cost and overhead of enterprise tools like TestRail. Because cases are plain text files, AI assistants in the IDE (Cursor, Copilot, and similar tools) can read and help draft test cases alongside your code.

Two entry points, same philosophy:

• Gitoza Desktop: desktop app for QA teams who need dashboards, review workflows, and structured test runs

Both store test cases as YAML files in your Git repository — no vendor-hosted database.

The Lite extension and Desktop app use different folder layouts today. Start with Lite for a quick personal try in VS Code. Start with Desktop if you need team dashboards, sign-off workflows, or testers who do not use the IDE.
