Ever try to size a window so it just touches the edge of the screen? It’s tedious (at least for me). FreeSnap allows you to instantly resize any window edge to the corresponding screen edge. Want that window to touch the right edge of the screen?

Doesn't ask permission about startup with Windows. Happily, my little WinPatrol barking Scotty dog tells me of these things. The program is HotKey driven.. which means memorization. These days Window Managers like WorkspacerWM will autosize windows. FreeSnap is good for directional snap choice. I'd prefer something automated for directional snap vs keyboard shortcuts. This program should have an icon in the tray to be sure when it is on/off.. It does work though.

I wanted a tool to make Windows 10 window positioning work like it did in Windows 7. FreeSnap _almost _ does it, making it easy to move a window to the left, right, top, or bottom edge of the screen. Unfortunately, there's a gap between the window and the left or right edge, and if you use it to position 2 windows side by side, there's a substantial gap between them.
I think this has something to do with Windows 10's borderless windows. The built-in Windows 10 positioning software leaves a gap at the edges, too. FreeSnap is a little less annoying because it's simpler to use, but I wish they would make it work like Windows 7 did.
There are more features to FreeSnap that would earn it a higher rating from me, if I cared about them. Maybe you do.
It's 2017 and this is still the best window manager for Windows. I use Moom on OSX (which is great), but for Windows I have yet to find any other program that can precisely resize a window to a certain size (e.g. 1024x768 pixels) AND center the window, or move it to a corner of the screen.
