I have used this for over 5 years. A very versatile proram. It has both the timer and the countdown functions. One can use any sound with it. It can also wake up one's PC. It can make a pop-up alert. It can give a signal once or repeat it.
Amazing! Has seconds precision, both manual countdown as well as date-based countdown along with hotkeys, custom sounds, repeat, and various settings. Highly recommend it.
Free Countdown Timer by Comfort Software Group runs on Windows but not iPadOS.
