What is Fluxlay?
Fluxlay is a native player for animated "live" wallpapers, available on both macOS and Windows, and it's free to download and use. Browse the gallery and apply any wallpaper with a single click.
Fluxlay wallpapers come in two flavors. Interactive ones are built with web technologies — React, Vue and Three.js — and respond in real time to system audio, CPU/memory load, the mouse, or the track you're playing, so your desktop reacts to what's happening on your machine. Video and 3D ones are polished, cinematic motion pieces that look stunning with no code at all. Either way, the engine is built in Rust (Tauri 2), renders at up to 120 FPS in 4K, supports multiple monitors and a different wallpaper per macOS Space, and automatically pauses during fullscreen apps to keep CPU/GPU usage low.
You can also become a creator. Build interactive wallpapers with the CLI and React SDK, or publish video and image wallpapers with no code at all by simply uploading a file. Share them with others, and optionally sell them.
