What is Fluent Cleaner?

FluentCleaner is a modern, minimal cleaning tool inspired by the 2006 version of CCleaner. Its focus is on cleaning what matters without the clutter of unnecessary features.

There has been a noticeable pattern where once-great products deteriorate over time. This often happens when a small developer's creation is bought by a company, excessively optimized, and morphed into an unrecognizable tool. CCleaner serves as a prime example of this phenomenon.

Interestingly, CCleaner's survival can largely be attributed to its community, notably the winapp2.ini signatures. This community's contributions have had more impact on the tool than most official decisions.

FluentCleaner does not rebuild all cleaners natively, but instead utilizes a parser for the format, which is notably faster than the old Piriform implementation.

The user interface of FluentCleaner is built in WinUI3, Microsoft's "beautiful but slow" framework. Despite this, it manages to outperform the original.

In the current industry, companies often compete to add more features without causing system breakdowns. This has led to the decline of good, simple tools. CCleaner, once a top-tier tool, now serves mostly as a warning.

FluentCleaner aims to be a tool that does not disappoint. Its evolution is not determined, and it may or may not continue to develop.
