Element Node information
What is Element Node?
Element Node is an open-source (AGPL-3.0) visual CMS designed for the AI-agent era. Its distinctive trait is the combination of two worlds: AI coding agents (Claude Code via an official skill, Cursor, Windsurf, Codex or any MCP client via the official MCP server on npm) can build and modify entire websites — pages, theme, media, forms, SEO — while non-technical site owners keep a familiar Elementor-style visual editor with drag & drop, inline editing, undo/redo and revisions.
Built on Next.js 15 (App Router, React Server Components) and Prisma/MySQL, it ships 51 native widgets, global theme blocks with display conditions (native multilingual sites), custom post types and taxonomies, reusable forms with GDPR consent, a native cookie-consent banner, per-page SEO with sitemap and OG images, sharp-optimized media, multi-user roles, API keys and 1-click self-updates with automatic pre-update database backup.
Because everything is native there is no plugin ecosystem to maintain — which removes the typical WordPress plugin attack surface and update treadmill. Whole sites can be imported and exported as a single JSON Site Blueprint, which agents use for pixel-perfect site clones verified by a visual-diff loop.
Self-hosted on your own server with a one-line installer. The core is free; a commercial license adds managed updates, security patches and support.
