Ekhio

A Mac system equalizer that measures your room and switches profiles on its own.

Room measurement: Ekhio measures your speakers on your desk, cuts the room's bass buildup and leaves alone what EQ can't fix.

What is Ekhio?

Ekhio is a system-wide equalizer for macOS that manages itself.

It switches profiles automatically based on what's playing: join a Teams or Zoom call and it moves to a voice profile, hang up and your music profile comes back, open Netflix and it switches to movie mode. Plug in headphones and their curve loads.

It can also measure your room. Ekhio plays a test signal through your speakers, listens with the Mac's microphone from three positions and builds a correction curve for your speakers on your desk. It takes about 24 seconds.

No driver or kernel extension. It uses Core Audio Process Taps (macOS 14.4+), so nothing is left installed when you quit.

Features: 32-band third-octave EQ, parametric bands, automatic headroom so boosts don't clip, always-on limiter, compare on/off, built-in and custom profiles, menu bar app.

Requires macOS 14.4 or later on Apple Silicon. One-time purchase for up to 3 Macs, with a 14-day free trial (no account or card needed).
