What is EasyABC?
EasyABC allows you to edit and play abc files. It supports conversion from MusicXML and MIDI to ABC. The latter uses a custom implementation (midi2abc is not used) in order to produce very readable ABC output. Direct midi input is supported for people with a midi keyboard. It uses abcm2ps for printing music and abc2midi for playing it.
• Good ABC standard coverage thanks to internal use of abcm2ps and abc2midi • Syntax highlighting • Zoom support • Import MusicXML and MIDI files (the midi to abc translator is custom made in order to produce legible abc code with more sensible beams than the typical midi2abc output). • Export to MIDI, SVG, PDF (single tune or whole tune book). • Select notes by clicking on them and add music symbols by using drop-down menus in the toolbar. • Play the active tune as midi • Record songs from midi directly in the program. Just press Rec, play on your midi keyboard and then press Stop. • The musical score is automatically updated as you type in ABC code. • Support for unicode (utf-8) and other encodings. • Transpose and halve/double note length functionality (using abc2abc) • An abcm2ps format file can easily be specified in the settings. • ABC fields in the file header are applied to every single tune in a tune book. • Automatic alignment of bars on different lines • Available in French, Danish, Swedish and English • Functions to generate incipits, sort tunes and renumber X: fields.

The instructions for this program provide no input about how to print two or more selected tunes (from a bunch of them listed in the then-current ABC file) in the desired order. Instead, it talks only about how to print a single tune's music score. I've not been able to find any way to achieve this goal, even though anyone using an ABC program for Irish music will have, at the top of their list, the need to print out multiple tunes in a preferred order . . . for use as a "set," at Sessions or performances.
The software's creator provides no ready means to send him an inquiry, so I am putting this out to all y'awl in the hopes that he finally addresses this issue either by revising the software to address this very basic need or to revise the instructions to show how to achieve a multi-tune printout (if the software already can do multi-tune printouts). Other than this issue, the software does a great job. However, its many valuable features are eclipsed by its apparent failure to meet this one very basic need.
Hi, To print more than one tune, you have to do a multi selection in the left column. You muti select by selecting a start title and by maintaining the shift key down, you select the last file to print. To multi selct randomly, you use instead the ctrl key.
