All I need as nonprofessional musician. Thanx!
MuseScore is owned by the same company that managed to destroy Audacity's reputation by collection user data.
Music score production is difficult. Tools for it are generally expensive and dreadful to use. Since the arrival of Tantacrul at MuseScore, it has become an amazing and powerful tool for reproducing scores and producing choral practice audio and MIDI files.
MuseScore is fantastic! It offers a very generous amount of features, a lot of which would be paid features in other notation programs. There's definitely a learning curve, but it's not bad at all. I use it often for SATB writing and can most assuredly recommend it to anyone who wants a free, intuitive notation editor.
Great free software for composing music. It's simple, efficient and gets updated often. MuseScore is professional without costing a cent.
The website has plenty of community written score to learn from. Although, that part isn't entirely free.
MuseScore is a professionally-developed, open source composition program that's constantly improving. It's all but caught up to the industry standard notation programs with its 4.0 iteration.
MuseScore is capable of everything, you just need to understand how it works at the beginning. The UI is very good. If you want to write drum partitions, I suggest you to use the drumline extention.
