The Duplicati project was inspired by Duplicity and had similar functionality until 2008' and is a well-known app in the Backup & Sync category. There are more than 100 alternatives to Duplicati for a variety of platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone. The best alternative is rsync, which is both free and Open Source. Other great apps like Duplicati are Rclone (Free, Open Source), Spideroak One Backup (Paid), GoodSync (Freemium) and BackBlaze (Paid).
